Worms are not just for fishing anymore.

They are for gardening, composting, recycling and more. Worms represent a complete environmental cycle that, if used properly, will provide numerous benefits to society.

So how can worms save the planet?

Simple. Worms can be used to process mankind's mountains of sludge and waste. Worms live on a diet of any organic material, including food scraps, green waste, sawdust, human and animal waste products - almost anything but meat. Worms eat their weight daily. For instance, it is estimated that the vermicomposting method could process the nearly 500,000 tons of dried sludge in 60 - 90 days.
One need not have 500,000 tons of unwanted sludge to benefit from the little wrigglers. However , used in a garden the worms areate the soil and produce a byproduct called "castings". This extremely fertile material is capable of growing larger-than-usual produce. Visit our Composting page for ordering info.

So how do worms multiply?

Worms do not multiply by cutting them in half, they die. Worms lay capsules. Capsules are worm eggs, they look like a small white bulb. The worm lays an egg (capsule). Each capsule contains A baby worm.
